Re-discovering the center of Athens (Vol.I)

Visiting new (to me) places, tasting new (to me) flavors as if I am visiting a new city, while I’ve lived in its suburbs all my life! Getting to know a city is refreshing and interesting, and it’s even better when it is “your” city!

The three places for Thursdays night out over the last month were:

“Pairidaeza” – A “Paradise” at Karitsi
Cool with vintage air and deco, Pairidaeza is a great café bar to have a coffee / drink, or (even better) start your night out! Variety of drinks that along with the antique furniture form a retro bar background, while professional bartenders “capture” your attention with their tricks! Food is also on the “menu” with nice dishes, friendly environment, Jazz, Soul and Funk music, and “service at your needs”!

“Mama Roux” – Jazz and food and vice versa!
An all day bar restaurant near Monastiraki metro station – easy access / no car / no parking/ no worries! Simple but unique decoration, in an industrial space where all types of people gather, intellectual, hipsters, younger, older, couples or groups…Along with its international cuisine and its personnel, it gives the sense of an international place where you can relax by drinking your wine or beer and tasting culture flavors by listening to Jazz music!

“A for Athens” – We can pick THE view!
Right across Monastiraki train station – again easy access, no car, no parking, no worries! Entrance on the left side through the hotel lobby and the elevator takes you straight up to the terrace. Enjoy drinks at one of the best roof views admiring the magnificent Acropolis and Plaka!
